Cougar Cookers was formed to support the University of Houston and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Cougar Cookers is a 501(c)(3) organization supported by alumni and friends of the University of Houston. We participate in the Rodeo Cook-Off to show our appreciation for the support that is given to higher education by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Participation in this event also provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase the University of Houston's own Texas style festival, Frontier Fiesta.
Cougar Cookers awards two one-year scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each ($1,500 / semester). The award will be made to a student leader who has a proven commitment of leadership to the Frontier Fiesta Association and continues to maintain active involvement with Frontier Fiesta during their receipt of the award.
